The Institute of GeoEnergy actively participated in this year’s “Researcher’s Night”, held on Friday, September 26, 2025, in Heraklion, Crete, at the premises of FORTH.
In the 2025 bibliometric study by John P. A. Ioannidis of Stanford University, published on September 19, 2025, entitled “Updated science-wide author databases of standardized citation indicators”, which evaluates and ranks scientists worldwide based on the international recognition and impact of their research work, members of the Institute of Geoenergy of the Foundation for Research and Technology – Hellas are included.

The 2nd Summer School of the European project TWINN2SET took place hybrid from June 30 to July 4, 2025.
Presentations of our work focused on deep-sea research related to potential oil spills in the Eastern Mediterranean, aligning with the research priorities of the Institute of Geoenergy (IG/FORTH), in the areas of hydrocarbon exploration and environmental impact assessment in the region.
The Institute of Geoenergy of FORTH participated in the scientific workshop entitled “Hydrogen Innovation for Regional Development: Strengthening Mobility and Local Value Chains – The Case of the Peloponnese”, which took place on June 11, 2025, at Isla Brown Corinthia, within the framework of the TRIERES Hydrogen Valley project.
The Institute of Geoenergy/FORTH participated at the 17th International Congress of the Geological Society of Greece in 28-31 May 2025, that is held at the University of Aegean, Mytilene, Lesvos island.
