Short CV

Dimosthenis Telemenis holds a BSc degree in Geology from the University of Patras and a MSc in Petroleum Engineering from the Technical University of Crete. Currently he is a PhD student at the Technical University of Crete, School of Mineral Resources Engineering, in collaboration with the Institute of GeoEnergy (FORTH/IG) (PhD Thesis: Study of new potential source rocks of Neogene age for the generation of hydrocarbons in Western Greece and Crete). He started his doctorate in April of 2023, as an expansion of his Master thesis (where a first approach has been conducted), focusing and investigating on new possible source rocks of Neogene age with main formation the so called “Diatomites”. Moreover, the interest of these formations covers different aspects such as reservoir and seal studies, which can lead to subsurface storage, aiming to adopt an integrative approach in his research within interrelated fields such as geology, geochemistry, sedimentology and stratigraphy. Throughout his studies, Dimosthenis Telemenis fulfilled an internship in O.A.K.A.E (Chania, Crete, Greece), while he has also participated in international conferences and workshops (EAGE, GSG). Moreover, he has participated in the writing of a research article in Eng Journal related to the current work.
