The Institute of Geoenergy of the Foundation for Research and Technology – Hellas (IG/FORTH) participated in the 3rd General Assembly of the European TRIERES – Greek Hydrogen Valley project, held in Ayia Napa, Cyprus. The event brought together project partners, along with representatives from public authorities, industry and the broader energy sector.
During the General Assembly, partners presented the progress achieved across the different Work Packages, highlighted key results to date, and discussed the priorities and next steps for the further implementation of the project. The FORTH/IG team presented the progress and outcomes of the activities in which it participates, contributing to the objectives of TRIERES towards the development of an integrated hydrogen ecosystem in Greece. The TRIERES project is one of the ongoing European projects of FORTH/IG in the fields of green energy and energy transition.
The event also provided a platform for discussions on recent developments in the hydrogen sector, hydrogen production and utilization technologies, and opportunities for strengthening cross-border cooperation across the Eastern Mediterranean. Particular emphasis was placed on the importance of collaboration among research institutions, industry and public authorities in supporting the transition from research and pilot applications towards the broader deployment of a functioning hydrogen ecosystem.
The participation of FORTH/IG provided a further opportunity for knowledge exchange, stronger collaboration among project partners and coordination of upcoming activities, supporting the contribution of TRIERES to advancing the hydrogen economy in Greece and the wider region.
