Dear members of the Institute of Petroleum Research,
On Wednesday, October 6th, we will have the pleasure of hosting Professor Frithjof Küpper (University of Aberdeen) for a lecture entitled “An inorganic antioxidant in a living system impacting atmospheric and marine chemistry: Iodide in seaweeds (kelp)”.
Professor Frithjof Küpper is a Professor of Marine Biology at the University of Aberdeen (Oceanlab) in Scotland. He previously served as Associate Professor (2009–2011) and Assistant Professor (2003–2009) at the Scottish Association for Marine Science (SAMS). Over the past 25 years, Professor Küpper has been involved in the study of biodiversity, chemical ecology, and the physiology of aquatic and marine plants/algae, particularly in the context of biotic/abiotic stress and biogeochemical cycles (125 ISI-listed peer-reviewed papers, >4,890 citations, h-index = 38, and 5 book chapters).
The lecture is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. in Room M3.003 (MSc Petroleum Engineering) at the School of Mineral Resources Engineering.
