In the 2025 bibliometric study by John P. A. Ioannidis of Stanford University, published on September 19, 2025, entitled “Updated science-wide author databases of standardized citation indicators”, which evaluates and ranks scientists worldwide based on the international recognition and impact of their research work, members of the Institute of Geoenergy of the Foundation for Research and Technology – Hellas are included.

Professor Dimitris Gournis, Deputy Director of the Institute of Geoenergy at FORTH and faculty member of the School of Chemical and Environmental Engineering at the Technical University of Crete, has surpassed 10,000 citations to his research work.

The Institute of Geoenergy of FORTH participated in the scientific workshop entitled “Hydrogen Innovation for Regional Development: Strengthening Mobility and Local Value Chains – The Case of the Peloponnese”, which took place on June 11, 2025, at Isla Brown Corinthia, within the framework of the TRIERES Hydrogen Valley project.
