Presentations of our work focused on deep-sea research related to potential oil spills in the Eastern Mediterranean, aligning with the research priorities of the Institute of Geoenergy (IG/FORTH), in the areas of hydrocarbon exploration and environmental impact assessment in the region.
The Institute of Geoenergy of FORTH participated in the scientific workshop entitled “Hydrogen Innovation for Regional Development: Strengthening Mobility and Local Value Chains – The Case of the Peloponnese”, which took place on June 11, 2025, at Isla Brown Corinthia, within the framework of the TRIERES Hydrogen Valley project.

We are excited to announce the launch of #TWINN2SET’s 2nd Summer School on Energy Transition, which will take place in Chania this upcoming July.
Following the signing of the contract concerning the construction of the Research and Innovation Center for the Sustainable Energy Transition, with a total area of 3,296.28 m², work began immediately on the construction of the buildings in Chania, which will house the Institute of Geoenergy and the Science & Technology Park.
The 1st Summer School of the TWINN2SET project will be held from 1 to 5 July 2024. The summer school is dedicated to Energy Transition and includes a series of lectures, workshops and lab tours.
